This memorial website was created in the memory of our precious daughter, Vivian Woods Mangum, who passed away on December 22, 2007 at the age of 2. Vivian was born in Sunnyvale, California, on November 27, 2005. Viv came into this world with a smile. Her attending midwife commented that she "looked like a 3 month old" when she was born, weighing 8 lbs 15 ozs.
Vivian started out as "scrappy." This is what Mommy and Daddy nicknamed her after getting pregnant quickly. We kept Scrappy's gender a surprise until delivery. Everyone seemed to think we were having a boy, so we were shocked when we had a girl! Mommy had to be told twice! We picked out Vivian's name early on. We loved our girl name and were excited to be able to use it. We chose Vivian because we thought it was pretty and unique without being strange. Her middle name, Woods, is her great-grandmother Betty's maiden name.
Vivian loved music "Elmo La, La, La," loved to dance and sing and be read to, and her dog Tank. Always happy and smiling, she made everyone laugh and "be happy" and loved to "run run run" just like her marathoning mommy. Vivian was partial to the color "reeen" (green) and loved her green lollipops. She was, and is, loved by all and will be deeply missed. Vivian was blessed with kind and caring parents who made every day of her life special.
Vivian is survived and always loved by her parents Allyson and Brian; grandparents, Jay and Jan Mangum, and their children, Matt, Jennifer and Greg Hawkes; Cliff and Janet Herseim and their children, Richard (her godfather) and Jennifer; great- grandparents, Barb Meek (GGB), Lyn and Peg Eschenbacher, Roberta and Bill Wilterding, and Jackie Mangum; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and her special California moms' group friends. Vivian was preceded in death by her great grandfather Gene Meek (GGG or triple G). Vivian was the joy of all our lives and is now bringing joy and happiness to GGG, GG Betty Woods, GG Violet, and Paw Paw in Heaven.
We may never know why Vivian was taken from us at such a younge age, but we do know that she gave us the most wonderful 25 months of our lives. We know that Viv will always be dancing with her Mommy and sleeping on her Daddy's chest at night.
